Hey, I have been scoring 19-21 on qvault, and took my first Bootcamp RC test today and scored a 19. My test is in a week. I have tried every strategy out there, but nothing is clicking for me. This is so embarrassing and its my worst section.

I was wondering what were your thoughts on bootcamp and your real DAT experience. Most people say they thought qvault was easier and that scares me a lot. What about bootcamp?

bump

I just took my second test and got a 17. What is the best way to review my RC test?

I think you are set !

I took both qvault RC and BC RC.

Qvault RC was easier than real deal because it was very straight forward. I scored 18/20/18/19/19/20/19.

For the bootcamp, it really prepared me well because of the types of questions they asked (both statements are true or yes the statement is correct or not correct because blah blah) . I had quite good amount of these kinds of questions so be prepared.
I scored 18/17/18/20/20.

For BC, I felt like the last 3 were easier to read compared to the first 2 and my real test was easier to read also. (All passages were under 12 paragraphs I believe although the word count might have been the same).

I ended up getting 20 on the real one (6/30).

English is my 2nd language btw.

I am so glad I practiced with BC !!! and hope this helps.

I hope I could get at least a 19 on the real thing 🙁 the only technique that is working for me is reading the whole passage then answering.. english isn't my first language nor my second, I hope adcoms would take that into consideration 🙁

topscore: 18-20-19
Bootcamp: 18-19-17-19-18

thanks djwon for the reassurance. I just want to break a 20 on this section; heck I will be fine with a 19. 7amsho, same here. If I skim, don't understand a word of it. If I read the questions first, that wastes valuable time and sometimes forget the questions also.

I just read the first couple of questions, and start reading.

My Bootcamp RC scores were 18/18/21/23/19 so I was freaking out since there was no consistency in my scores. I got a 23 on the actual DAT RC and felt the questions were a little easier than Bootcamp. But Bootcamp definitely helped me think more critically, although there weren't as many tone questions as I expected. I purely used search and destroy because every other technique, I would run out of time but it worked great for me on the exam.

Woo! Another sign of relief. I'm going to take another one today and see how it goes.
