I signed up for June 17th a couple of month ago. However now i'm wondering if I should change to June 8th Mcat. Would i really be in a noticeable amount of disadvantage (lets say if i get the same mcat score regardless)? I realize that scores will come out in August so my application will be complete in August at the earliest. (August vs july)
The reason is that my finals end May 21, leaving me with not much time to study. I can probably manage with that amount of time but the problem is that my school says if I want my Spring 2010 grades to be on the transcript, I have to order it on or after June 9th... + processing days + mailing days + AMCAS verification = is there really a difference between June 17 and July 8th?

Also my school uses committee letter/packet system which includes 3 recs and 1 school letter. Will AMCAs verify application without receiving recommendations yet?

I'd say it's not an issue at all. Just make sure you get the rest of your AMCAS application in and verified ahead of time. I took my MCAT in mid July and had interviews scheduled in early Sept for the end of Sept and got the first acceptance on Oct 15. And no, I don't have a 40 MCAT and neither did I save thousands of people from a dictator....

From what I've heard, the American Medical College Application Service opens up for data entry in May. You'll be able to officially submit you application on june the first. If you take it June the 17 it will more than likely come back around late july or early august. You'll be at a distinct disadvantage since most prepared applicants will have applied two months ahead of you. And thats if you have all you're LoR and PS at the very moment you get your scores back. If money isn't a problem for you I would apply anyway. If it is I would hold off and allow for more study time.

Hey what where your stats?

Taking the July MCAT is no disadvantage, ESPECIALLY if it's going to ensure you get the best score possible. Yes, it'll set you back for verification, but August isn't THAT bad. I took a July 2 MCAT, got my scores at the very beginning of August, finished my primary app mid-aug and was verified on Sept 15. I still got 4 interviews, and an acceptance.

And no, your rec letters aren't needed to be verified. My rec letters didn't get in until Oct because my school's committee sucks.
