How much do u anticipate to spend for interviews?

Working on my budget now.....Does anyone know what the avergare 4th year spends during the interview season?

Thanks!

Well, I think the match folks suggest that the average successfully matching person ranks 8-12 places, so presumably you'd need at least that many interviews, probably more assuming you don't like them all. So if we assume you go on 15 interviews, the next question is are you interviewing locally or distant. If you are traveling half a dozen times at conservatively $200-$300 in air transportation, $100 in lodging, we are talking a couple of grand. If you can drive or are local or can bum someone's couch, you can bring it a bit lower.

I did all my medical school interviewing by the "Rules of the Road". Didn't pay a dime, but I was walkin' funny during my interviews.

Thanks a lot for your input! I was estimating about 2 grand myself.

What are you interviewing for and how far away are you looking?

Psych, northeast-midatlantic.

Maybe I can get away with less $, but I'm just kinda expecting to have to stay in a hotel for all interviews....we'll see...

It's threads like these that make me thank the heavens that I have a parent that works for Southwest Airlines.
