Hello
I was just curious how much do medical students study each day? nonstop?

As much as we need to. I know people that live in the library when class is not in session. Personally, I prefer to get in one or two hours a day. It's all about who you ask and how quickly they absorb the material. I think most would agree that we study triple or quadruple the amount we did in college. And once you accept not having a life, you'll find it's not too hard to get used to.

It really does depend on how fast you can absorb information. I usually have to read all my notes/texts at least twice to learn it well. I studied on average 6 hrs a day on the weekdays and 12 hrs a day on the weekends for the first two years of med school.

yup, i'm lucky if i get in an hour or two in every day. weekends are for catch up. around exam time, i'm all studying. everyone differs so think about how u studied in undergrad (though u will be studying a bit more...)

Too much. Way way too much.

For my MS2 year...perhaps around 3-5 hours per night during the weekdays, and during the weekends...it depends if there is a major exam or not, but I'd say 10 hours and more during the weekends. Sometimes there are light weekends, where I try to catch a movie, have dinner with friends, or go shopping if I have the time...it's a rarity though, like 1 light weekend per 1-2 months.🙂

I wouldn't listen to the one of the top people in our class. I must be an idiot. I study for at least 8 hours/day but I do not go to class so it is more like 4 hours/day.

It depends on your school schedule. My school typically goes from 8-12. We have 2 days a week where integrated courses take 2-3 hours i the afternoon. I average maybe 2-4 hrs/day during the week and about 6-8 hrs/day over the weekend. Studying increases as you near an exam.
