I was kicking this question around and finally decided to post it. here it is; how many of you would kill someone to get into medical school ?

Sorry, when adcoms realize who you are, you will never get into med school now.

thats why i have no mdapps. besids i did not say i would, but considering the amount of gunners that frequent this site it is not a unreasonable question.

I would kill no one to get into medical school since that would make me a hypocrite and I hate hypocrites almost as much as pre-meds in it just for the money/parental pressures.


But I can tell you wholeheartedly that as someone with a disadvantage in applying (horrible self-made freshman year grades), I will work 10x harder than anyone else here at this university and get as many 4.0s as I can before I graduate. And I was very happy because the quarter before last I got a 3.8, and was not satisfied. I realized you can't just be a type B personality in this field, you have to mesh as much type A as possible while still retaining type B traits to not overwork/kill yourself. 👍

I'm serious. I wouldn't mind ending the kind of people who take college for granted and throw their lives away. But perhaps SDN is not the place to put up my inner confessions...

And would I kill someone, hmmm. Like people have said it depends on who the person is. I wanted to kill the mother****er who cut me off today and nearly caused a massive traffic accident, so if killing him would get me into med school, hell yes.
 
Anyone notice this question is equivalent to "Would you kill someone to claim their insurance money?" In the end it is murder for personal gain. Not trying to point fingers...but if you do one...doesn't it make you more likely to do the other? Looks like we have some future snapped/Dominick Dunne/First 48/CSI/cold case files stars on here...lol.

On that note, going to med school isn't that great man. I never really understand why some people freak out about going to med school. It's just another job. Sure it pays well but you work that much harder too.

Put your life in perspective. Being a doctor isn't a big deal, and it won't give your life meaning or make you happier.
 
Absolutely not!!! What the ****? If you would kill someone- I don't care who it is- to get into med school, I dearly hope you never make it. I wouldn't want to have a doctor or work as colleagues with a doctor who would be willing to kill a person to achieve their own goals and dreams.

That sounds terribly selfish and I think you'll make a bad physician.

I would kill someone without hesitation to get into medical school. As long as it is noone important in my life, I could careless that some fool kicks the bucket so that I can succeed!!!

Seriously I don't understand why you guys are so shocked by it. It's human nature to want the best for yourself. It's human nature to take the easiest way out. If you honestly think that only the "honest, moral, ethical" people are going to succeed, you are dead wrong. Take the high road, you WILL get trampled on.
Now I'm not saying you should all go out and steal your hallmates' textbooks but if an opportunity presents itself where there are great rewards for yourself at the cost of others, you SHOULD take it.

Yeah, that is very true...

It's sad that our society views killing another man as evil. I view it as a natural ability that causes no emotion. But I use the word evil to scare the masses :laugh:
