Not asking for retake advice; I got a good score and I was never aiming for the top top schools. But on MSAR it looks like a 127 is on the low end of admitted students for many of my target schools (even schools with a median MCAT that's lower than mine.) Meaning, it's at the 10th percentile or lower.
My question is, do schools take c/p very seriously? I know there's obviously filtering in terms of the global score. But could this section score actually hurt my chances of getting interviews?

I mean I’m at a “low tier” school, but I think you’re overthinking this.

I think the MCAT is ridiculous and should be completely reworked anyway.

When I read your app, I just think “Can they pass a board exam?” And it doesn’t take as high of a score as you think.

The other piece is that your application is put in a ranking system with everyone else. And of course higher equals better. But once your score is good enough other things matter a lot more.

Thank you for your response! I agree that it is completely ridiculous. In many ways. (and from what I've heard, the ranking of schools is also ridiculous)

Do you know if schools would rank/filter by section score or only the overall score? I'm wondering if it's something I actually need to consider in making my list of schools or if i'm being silly as usual

No idea. I doubt it

Some schools (Emory comes to mind) will screen for subsections <125. Most don't. With a good overall score, I doubt it matters much. But, im just a fellow applicant, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt :p.
