I normally attend College X, and for one summer I decided to take Physics at College Y. A day after the midterm I dropped the course at College Y (I was a visiting student at College Y. This was the only time I ever took a course at College Y).

Anyways, turns out the policy for withdrawals at College Y is very stringent, and apparently dropping a course the day after the midterm was not soon enough and a W was listed. I am now applying to Medical School, and REALLY want to avoid sending and spending the money to send a single transcript with a W (so no credit received) to each of the 35 medical schools I apply to. Its financially ridiculous, and also unnecessary. I spoke to AMCAS, and they said that this W from College Y must be reported to AMCAS, and the only way to go around this is by appealing to College Y for them to remove the W off my transcript. (Then I would have no record from College Y). I actually appealed to College Y to do this, but I have been unsuccessful but plan to continue trying.

-How much is it to send each transcript to medical school?
-Is AMCAS really telling the truth? I really have to report a single W to them from a school I was a visiting student at? If I do not include it, they will notify me, type of thing?

I am trying my best to appeal to delete the W but I don't know that it will happen. I just think its going to be so much money for me to send it to each school, and for what? A single W? Thats nuts.

You only send a transcript from each school you attended to amcas, only needs to be done once, not to each school...

You are obligated to include it.
They'll find out anyway so don't try hiding it, that'll hurt you far worse than a W.

@Ismet

Is there a possibility of merging this and the other thread? Looks like OP asked the same question twice.
