Hi everyone, this is my first post here !!!

I was wondering how much money do dentists make?
I hear a lot of "dentists can provide enough for their families." can anyone put any figures to that?

I'm thinking about dentistry as an option in the future (I'm majoring in physics right now), and it's not just because of the money (I think working with cool things like laser drills is hella fun) but there are so many options that money can open up that I can't really overlook.

There are MANY threads around here that have some variation upon the information you're looking for.

Generally, new dentists (1-5 years out of school) will bring home $110-150,000.

That is going to vary greatly depending on location, type of practice, type of payments accepted, etc.

General dentists who have been in practice for upwards of 20 years are noted as making $250,000 or more.

These are just general figures, of course.
