I'm super thorough with the General Chem, Physics and bio section. But I havent taken Organic Chem yet. How much Organic Chemistry is there in the MCAT? What is the highest score anyone had ever scored on the MCAT without taking Organic Chem?

I had 1 passage on the AUGUST MCAT for Organic chem and proabably 2-3 independent questions. Some forms of the test had 4 passages of OCHEM I believe from reading other posts. On the MCAT, first semester principle is covered along with first and second semester reactions. You will eventually need OCHEM to get into medical school in the U.S., but if you plan on taking the MCAT beforehand I would suggest reviewing the relevant topics listed by the AAMC in a review book such as Kaplan or PR to get the basics.

ochem is basically luck of the draw i think

Thanks for the replies. So in other words, the MCAT could go fine for me if I take it without Organic. I guess I'll just review some of it in the Kaplan comprehensive review I have.

You just need a basic understanding of core o-chem concepts. I studied at most 5 hours excluding PR class time. I've been scoring consistent 11's in BS sections of aamc tests even without o-chem preparation and haven't had o-chem in 2 years. My form had two o-chem passages which weren't too hard. It never hurts to be over prepared though.
