I never hear anyone say anything about it... and there is sooooo much tied to female reproductive phys especially. So how high yield is it? Thanks.

lots of women bleeding for all types of reasons on my exam so yes female endocrine was imoprtant

I think that a good understanding of endocrine physiology (including reproductive, for both male and female) is relatively high yield on Step 1. The best way I can suggest to study it is to read the Endocrine chapter in BRS Physiology both during your first and second year. Definitely read it and become as familiar with that chapter as you can when going through this material during your second year endocrine pathophysiology, pathology and pharmacology. For endocrine more than any other system, once you understand the physiology of it the pathology and pharmacology become pretty simple with less memorization required.

Well, you know what they say, "if they're old enough to bleed, they're old enough to breed." 😎 Kaplan has a good chapter on that in their Step 2 Ob/Gyn book. It's only a few pages long and explains it well. Hopefully you can find someone with this book. Keep your eyes peeled in the library - it's a white soft cover book with dark blue text on the cover. Good luck!

Honestly, it completely depends on the exam you get. You could have several over embryology tied in with pathophysiology, several endocrine drugs, several path questions, etc.

It really depends on the luck of the draw.
