Ok, I was wondering how much research is usually considered "adequate" for MD admission. I don't plan on going to a huge research school, probably just my average state school.
I am a junior in undergrad and the only research I have thus far is a REU I took part in this summer researching cytometry. Is this enough to be competitive at a MD program considering the rest of my application is solid? (GPA, MCAT, extracurriculars)
I have been interested in possibly doing research during the school year, but I put a lot of time into my classes in order to maintain a high GPA and really learn the material. I also spend a lot of time with campus organizations, working, and volunteering.
