Just wondering how much sleep one gets in residency?

0-8 hours depending if I'm on call, how annoying the consults are, if it's a vacation week, etc. Your mileage will vary. There's usually time for sleep, but you may have to sacrifice other things (exercise, friends/family, studying) to get it.

Moving to pre-allo. Plenty of residents there to answer your question. Gen Res is for current residents.

Depends on the residency and the rotation in the residency.
General surgery intern - average 3-8 when working; 12 with my one day a week off.
I've heard psych residents may get to sleep more.

I agree: the only right answer is "not enough".

Its going to vary by specialty, by whether or not you're on call, by patient census, if you respond to traumas, etc. Like others. my range of sleep during residency varied from none at all to a full night.

Depends on the rotation and the luck of the pager if I was in-house. 3-4th years I seldom went into work before 8 so any lack of sleep was from my own bad decisions.
Wait isn't third year supposed to be hell reincarnated? With like overnights and stuff?
