Im TERRIBLE with stats and there's so many different kinds of tests I'm feeling a little overwhelmed.

How much stats do you need to know?

Does anyone have any recommendations for learning the basics? I tried this one course but it has me feeling more lost than found.

If you are doing research at a big academic center..... not just some smaller project you’re working on your own. Usually they will have statistician who can help you. Even if you’re just working on your own, there may still be people who can help you out....

Their job is literally helping you out to figure out your sample size, what test is best for the question you’re asking. It would be great that you actually know that stuff. Make you better at what you do, but is it “necessary”? Probably not.

Torrent SPSS and watch some youtube videos on how to run various statistical tests. As long as you know the difference of what tests to run for continuous v categorical variables you're golden.
