Hi everybody! :) For those of you who have already taken the OAT, how much study time do you think is sufficient enough? I know this is reallyyy far ahead, but I'm planning on taking it in a year (Spring Break of next year). I am planning on studying that whole month of winter vacation leading up to 3 months before March.

Also, if you took the Kaplan/Princeton courses, did they actually work well?

Please let me know how it was for you guys. I know this will be different for everybody. Thanks a lot! :D:thumbup:

Hey! I asked my advisor the same question because I'm really nervous for the OAT. I am planning on taking it this summer and didn't want to have to study much during school. She told me it is good to study for 6-8 weeks before but obviously different people can do it faster or need more time. I'm planning on taking it six weeks after school is done and then enjoying the rest of summer without having to worry. Good luck with everything! :)

I took the Kaplan course and it did help. The actual book is the best thing if you can get your hands on that. It basically covers everything in pretty good detail. They do not cover physics in class, but have an online version you can watch which I thought was crappy. I was the only OAT student (the rest were DAT). If you're fresh out of Orgo and Physics you'll probably be fine just studying a month or so. I've been out of school for a couple years, so I really needed the Kaplan. AA 330 TS 350 GPA 3.54

let me know if you want to know anything else

Study for 2-3 months, a little each day. Exercise regularly, a 20-30 minute jog a day can really make a difference in how you perform, trust me.

The Kaplan course is not necessary, just try to get the Kaplan study book (review notes). Every person who has taken the course will tell you the same thing.

wow good advice!

Do most people take it in the summer, or winter break or something? Because I'm planning on taking it during Spring Break and I'm not sure if studying during the winter break before that and onward would be enough :\

Studying during the winter break should be enough if you study every day. Although, I think taking it in the summer would be less stressful for sure.

I studied in 3 weeks using just the Kaplan materials. I didn't look over QR section at all though. I suggest picking up a Bio text book and looking over it though. The kaplan didn't cover enough for the bio section.
