There are a few blocks remaining for MS2, which are limiting the amount of time I can devote to Step 1 review.

How much Step 1 review did you do during the last semester of 2nd year? Did you try to study a few hours everyday for Step and when did you start?

Yeah I'm in the same situation where we have 4 more blocks and about 20 hours of lectures each week making it difficult to study for Step...

We are on the semester system. Since we started back, I have been trying to get in about 10-15 hrs/wk. Until May when I can have dedicated time (5 weeks). I feel I need more time for review and learning than most though. Also, wanted to see some questions early on to get a feel for it. But, unlike most of SDN, I am not a great standardized test taker.

I do about 2.5 hours per day of step 1 review (I commute to school 2.5 hrs a day so my commute is dedicated board study time). 1 hour for FA review, 1 hour USMLE RX, and 30 minutes flashcards (microcards/LANGE pharm are the two notecard sets that I am using). I do FA / RX on the train and flashcards on the bus.

Sorry to be off-topic but that sounds...absolutely awful. Kudos to you for being able to efficiently make the best of that situation.

We will have more time to studying during the dedicated study period after our blocks finish. If I am able to study 2-3 hours of Fa and qbanks everyday, is that a good start? Or, do students students more during the early part of the semester?

I tried for like 1 hour a day but lots of the time didn't do much, also it depends how much time you get in the dedicated study period before the test ?

We have about 5-6 weeks of dedicated study period. I think most people get serious around the Spring break time in March/April. I plan on doing some organ system review now, but 2nd year coursework is keeping me busy. SMH.

That's about the same amount of time I had, I did like 80-90% of my studying in that window... I'd use ms2 time to familiarize yourself with the resources and make sure everything is lined up to go for the study period

During the weekdays, I am reviewing about 20 qbank questions a day and annotating in FA, and I study FA during the weekend.

I try to study for class only during the weekdays, so i can keep most of the weekend open for step studying.
