Hey guys, I'm currently working through my last med school course. Once it ends, I'll have about 7 weeks to prepare for step 1. During the first month of that, I plan to work through Goljan, First Aid, BRS Phys, RR Biochem, RR Gross and Developmental Anatomy, HY Behavioral Science, HY Neuroanatomy, and HY Cell and Molecular.

I used an iPhone app called cram fighter to organize all of those books in a System's based approach. The amount of pages that I would be reading through per weekday is about 100 (and about half that for Saturday and Sunday). I also plan on working the appropriate questions from the Kaplan Q-Book and Cochran's Review of Path during this time, as well as listening to the corresponding Goljan lectures for Path. Is this too much reading per day? (Note, there is 1 "Catch Up" day each week with nothing planned just in case I do get behind.)

About halfway through the first month, I will purchase a month subscription for USMLE-World and work 92 questions each morning. For the last two weeks of preparation, I just plan on using the last two weeks of the Taus method.

How does the overall plan look? Thanks

Hmmm..I think you might be going with too many sources. Remember you only have 7 weeks. Plus you intend to 92 u world questions a day. This equates to 92 minutes (for questions) + 92 x 2 = 184 minutes ( ~ 3 hours for REVIEW). So your total Uworld time per day is: ~4.5 hours.

I guess what i am saying is that you might be using too many sources.

I would stick to the following:

1) FA
2) UWorld
3)Goljan ( RR or audio/transcript). You can also use pathoma instead of goljan.

I would spend time to understand the material listed above and then take NBME exams. And then decide if you need to add additional resources.

I spent 8 solid hours of studying a day for six weeks and took one whole day off each week.

Make sure to take breaks. You'll go insane if u dont.

Are you dead? If yes, you've studied too much, consider taking a break. If no, get off SDN and get back to studying! Yup, it's just that simple...😛

Do a trial week or 3 days (long weekend) if you can't spare a week. That will give you a sense of how much you can truly work, then plan from there. No point in planning your perfect schedule and finding out by day 2 you're already behind, screwing your entire plan.
