I'm trying to get an idea of how much time dermatologists (not MOHS) actually spend during surgery. A rough estimate would be helpful.

Thanks

I think two years is enough, if he/she can grasp the basical surgical skills for a dermatologist.
It's just my opinion.

About how many hours a week do dermatologists spend doing surgical procedures?

Its very variable.Derm is a good specialty because you can arrange it to your interests.
Some dermatologists who are surgically inclined spend all or much of their week doing excisions, flaps.hair transplants, lipo etc
Others dont want to do procedures other than skin bx etc and they refer out the rest.In Derm residency there is extensive training with basic surgical procedures those who are motivated can do a fellowship and set up a surgically oriented practice.MOHS trained individuals also tend to do many non MOHS procedures.
