... money would someone need to give you for you to not go to medical school ?

I'd love to say they couldn't, but obviously everyone has a tipping point. It would have to be an eight or nine figure amount, at the very least.

Edit: Should clarify. With this amount of money, I'd be able to buy myself into a pretty nice institution. I'd study neuroscience from there 🙂

Fits my passion, and while it isn't medical school, it's a damn close second.

I would need to be paid in personal fulfillment. If that were a trade-able asset, then the answer is a lot.

A quote from a doc I work with: "Some people become doctors because they want to help people and all that jazz. Some people become doctors because they don't want to look in the mirror and vomit."

People who win the lottery are notorious for being unhappy.

I thought it was that they just returned to the happiness that they started at soon after winning. I know some crash and burn, but I thought those were like the <~$1,000,000 winners, not the multimillion $ winners.

For $1.4 million, before the several year bull market, I would have considered it. Then again, not sure I would have known what to do with the money at that point.

Anyway, wrapping up med school now. Matched yesterday. I guess I'll just go be a leader of modern medicine.

Lol'd. Congrats on matching! Fantastic job 🙂

Enjoy (as much as one can) residency!
