How often do NPTE study materials really change?

I am currently about to start the 3rd semester of my 1st year of school, so graduating in May 2022. I recently got enough money from Christmas, my birthday, and savings to be able to splurge on myself. Is it worth it to by a current NPTE book to see more condensed version of what I am learning or will it be completely obsolete by 2022? If not obsolete, what would be the best one to buy?

I studied for NPTE with a TherapyEd book that was 4 years old and did just fine. So buy an older version to save money. You do not need any other books to be prepared for NPTE, Therapy Ed is enough.
