I am still getting oriented to different practice resources, but the one thing that I see as being of significant value are programs that rank how important a topic is and how likely you are to see a question on that topic on the real exam. As far as I can tell, the only major program that gives this kind of information for ALL topics tested on Step 1 is Doctors In Training. I have only watched sample videos and it seems that Kaplan does not give this kind of advice.
Personally, I don't find much value in someone walking me through First Aid unless they add some kind of valuable insight or information regarding First Aid. I think DIT giving information about how often a question is likely to appear on the real exam is worthwhile but not worth $800. I really am hesitant to spend that kind of money and am not sure I can really afford it. I am a very independent learner.
Does anyone know if there are other sources (preferably less expensive than DIT) that give information about how likely information is to appear on the exam? I know that First Aid has narrowed information to begin with, but would be interested to hear the experiences of others in prioritizing information. I would also be interested to hear about ways in which DIT helped people to narrow or prioritize their focus during study.

Basically anything in First Aid is high yield. It's not everything you need to know for the exam, but it will encompass 80-90% of what is commonly encountered on the exam. The qbanks test your ability to recognize and integrate the information.

DIT is putting their own opinion on material. It may be accurate because of the input they receive, but it's just an opinion at the end of the day. Go through Uworld to see what is commonly tested, but realize that you can change any question in Uworld to fit the other answer choices, and you have to recognize when those alternative choices may be right.
