I just applied this cycle. I took all my science pre-reqs over 10 years ago but decided on a different career when I graduated college. Over the past few years, I have decided to pursue dentistry and I took all the pre-reqs I needed for the DAT over the past two years (GC, OC and Gen Bio) and did well on the DAT. For some reason, I thought schools required you to take all your pre-reqs within 5 years of applying, so I planned to take Physics/Microbio/Biochem during fall and spring of next year while I applied.
I called the schools to which I am applying today to confirm and to my surprise, they all said there is no time limit for pre-reqs so I wouldn't have to take physics, etc., especially since I did well on the DAT. Thus, I have some questions:
I am really tempted to drop the classes I signed up for due to money and time (I work about 50 hours a week so taking any class is really hard on me and my husband). Is it possible that the schools will change their mind if accepted and say I need to retake these pre-reqs? I'm super paranoid and worried. Did any of you have older pre-reqs that were accepted?
Additionally, I already submitted my app and put these down as "planned coursework." Is it ok if I don't follow through?
