I found it useful in undergrad since cramming was often a necessity with all that was going on. Now, there's too much to learn to be able to put off until cram sessions. Its not that Adderall isn't bad or whatever, its that its effect isn't helpful to improve learning and learning efficiency given what we are required to get in our heads now.

I've taken something very similar to adderall (it's a methylphenidate, where as adderall is an amphetamine) all my life due to ADHD, and I can say it definitely increases your attention. You'll also have more time because you won't waste it doing stupid things...like sleeping or eating...
But seriously, don't get dependent on it. I've seen the side effects, and I wouldn't wish someone to bring that upon themselves it could be avoided.

I take Adderall but also have been dx with ADD. It helps me tremendously but I would caution anyone not properly dx from taking the medication. It is amphetamine as has been mentioned previously. While it works on my neurochemistry to actually calm my brain down and help me focus, it is a stimulant and someone without ADD should not take it
