I'm submitting my personal statement over the next few days to a UK university.
It's the only university I want to apply to. How much should I bring this aspect up in the personal statement? I only have 4,000 characters, so I am limited in what I say.
Secondly, I was editor of my school's magazine for two years and lead a secondary-school publication to a national student media award nomination in categories amongst universities. We were the only secondary-school nominated. How relevant is this? My guidance counsellor seems to think it isn't, and I disagree.
Also, I have a strong interest in neurology and psychiatry, and I have talked a good bit about this in my statement. I talk about my interest in research and then how I realised that the clinical side of medicine was equally as important.
I've been told my statement is strong, but I just want to make sure I've covered all the necessary areas.
