Hey Guys,
M3 here, excited about my decision to become a radiologist. I had a question about working at a private practice that I could not find the answer to in another thread so i thought i'd ask.
For those of you currently interviewing or who recently interviewed for DR positions, what is the difference between attending a reputable program vs a community hospital/lesser known program for your residency training?
I assume to work at a university hospital/in academics you must do research during residency and attend a "good" program?
What about private practice, do they look at/care about research? do they care about which program you trained at as long as you can do the job? In other words, I have heard that those coming out of "good" programs earn essentially the same as those coming out of mediocre residency programs. If that is the case, then what are the benefits of attending a more reputable residency program if you plan on working in private practice?
I appreciate all your answers, Thank you!
