Hello,

I am thinking of applying to Texas schools due to their extremely low tuition..

You become a Texas resident after 1 year of living in Texas, correct?

I was just wondering about the similarities between TMDSAS and AADSAS.

How similar are they in terms of requirements in letters, transcripts, PS, etc?

Thank you.

I think to qualify for state tuition you most not only live in Texas for a year but have worked in Texas for a year also.

As for the apps, they are fairly close with TMDSAS having a few optional essays. The format of ADDSAS is easier to use IMO.

IF you are married to someone who worked in Texas for the 1 year and they become a resident, do you also become one?

Texas schools have a very low tuition rate but accept very few OOS residents. I believe the few OOS applicants that they do accept come from neighboring states or states that dont have dental schools. Overall the TMDSAS is fairly similar to AADSAS I believe there are a couple extra essays for TMDSAS. One good thing about TMDSAS is that its much much cheaper. I believe it was like $95 for all 3 TX schools and no individual school application fee.
