I was just wondering, how soon did you get news back from Podiatry Schools after you applied? I plan on applying in September when applications come out but want to know how soon they actually schedule interviews? Does anyone know from experience? Thanks!

It varies from school to school and likely year to year. Email the admissions office at the school you are interested in and ask them.

It depends on the school and when your application is submitted and verified. Temple will send an invite about 1-2 week after you have submitted your app. Most of the other schools send an invite about 1-2 week after your app has been verified. Some schools like Scholl will wait until your app has been verified and your LORs have been received.

I had my MCAT, Transcript, App, LORs, etc. all set by August. I sent in my LORs to the schools early and had everything in approximately a week after apps opened up. Interviewed approximately 3 weeks after and received my acceptances approximately 2 weeks after interviewing.

So it took me about 1.5 months from the day I submitted my app to start receiving acceptance letters.

when you say you had everything set, do you mean you just had it all prepared or that you had already sent everything in besides your actual application

About a week before the apps opened up...IIRC they opened up a little late last year...there was a message to send transcripts to them early. So I did. I also had my MCAT released through the thx (whatever its called) system to AACPMAS. I sent my LORs about the same time I submitted my app. You can send the LORs earlier if you want but I was waiting on 1 letter and I wanted to send everything at the same time.

EDIT:
Here are the interview invites and official acceptance threads for c/o 2014.

Wow. That's really quick and actually very good to hear. Thanks for the feedback.

The earlier you get all your paperwork submitted in the cycle the quicker the response you will get since the admissions offices aren't handling a butt load of apps at the same time. Overall though, no matter when you apply in the cycle, the podiatry admissions process is FAR quicker then when students apply to traditional med school (since there are a significantly less applicants). Every school I applied to and interviewed at was very good with communication and was very organized. The podiatry admissions process was a great experience. Good Luck!

Thanks again. I'll be lucky to even get an interview. I just hope that If I do everything early, I'll get some news before January or else I'll have to give up on life (no jk) but it would be nice to hear from them soon and thanks for sharing your personal experience.

Even if you apply late you'll hear back pretty quickly. I applied to 4 schools in April and received emails from 3 of them saying they received my application within a day, and invites to interview about a week later. I never heard back from the 4th school, not even a confirmation that they received my application... which was strange. I probably should have called or emailed them about it. Oh well.
