Hey, everyone I plan on applying to dental school next year and still need to take the DAT. I would like to take it in early May before I leave for a 2-week road trip. As of now there are over 200 days until then. It's been about five years since taking any biology, chemistry or organic classes. I plan on using Cliffs AP Biology, DAT Destroyer, Crack DAT PAT, Chad's chemistry/math videos, and Kaplan Blue Book. When would be a good time begin studying? I want to give myself plenty of time to really understand the material.

well...why not start now...do a little everyday. I would suggest reading Ferali's notes after reading Cliff's Ap bio THIRD EDITION. Her notes can be found by searching "Ferali's biology notes" on google...first link. Also, use DATqVault for biology only after you have studied. Use all of DATBootcamp as well once you are done studying the material. After that ...1 or 2 weeks before your exam take the 2009 and 2007 ADA practice exams. The 2007 is free but 2009 is like thirty something dollars to order. Good luck!

I just ordered Cliffs AP Biology 3rd Edition today off of Amazon for about $8. I plan on just skimming through that now and watching some Chads videos. I'll check out Ferali's notes. Thanks.

Wait, de ja vu? I swear I just answered this question on a different thread? lol. 😀

5 years is a long time...I'd get on the sciences lol. Make sure you have a month after you get your base for all the section to focus on practice problems and test strategy. Good luck!

That's why I ordered Cliffs AP Biology and just (a few hours ago) downloaded Ferali's Biology Notes. Reading through both of those should re-surface some old biology knowledge.

Also, look into Barron's AP Biology and their complementary flashcards. To me, they have nicer diagrams and more end-of-chapter questions. It's not expensive and worth the look. Disclaimer: Not downgrading Cliff's AP Biology. I used both of them. 👍
