How soon will you be relocating to your new school?

Hey Everyone,
For the lucky ones that were accepted on December 1st to their top choice-- I'm wondering... When will you be relocating? I'm headed to Louisville, which starts at the very beginning of July. My wife is a dental hygienist, and we plan on purchasing a home, so I'm sure we'll end up relocating around April.. That way we will have time for her to find a job, close on a house, and get to know the area before I'm inundated with dental school!

Does anyone know how soon after you fill out FAFSA that you can draw $ from your student loans?

You can't get money from your student loans until the university distribution date, usually within a week of your start date. Maybe a little before that and sometimes a little bit after. You could probably call the school financial aid office and ask for the list of thier distribution dates.

Im not sure when you can start to draw on that money but I would imagine as soon as possible, when school starts. I want to relocate a month before classes start. Just enough time to get a little settled before I start school. This is an important question though for a lot of people.

Yeah I would say between 1-2 weeks prior to school starts.

Same as OP. Going to be house hunting over the next few months and will hopefully move in about two months before school starts. Also, my wife needs to find a job as a lawyer so we can have some income... Which is always a good thing.

You can't get the $ until after school starts in July, ~1 week after classes start. It took a while longer (~2-3 more weeks) for some of us to get it. Plan accordingly.
