Have been accepted for the class of 2024 and have to take biochem 1 as my last pre-req. I'm currently trying to work 40-60hrs/week as a nurse for financial reasons that will be resolved by May and am flying out several times during the semester to visit my mom. From those who have taken biochem, how much time do you think I should allocate to the course weekly in order to pass, as other things in my life are taking precedence. I hear not great things about this Professor, but I also take that with a grain of salt. Slightly worried of overbooking myself and taking a risk of failing, advice would be great. Thank you.

Ratio of study time to classroom time = roughly 2:1

I suspect you have a strong science background, so you can probably get away with less study time. And it's not like you have to get an A since you got accepted already.

I think Biochemistry I would be very doable on your schedule since a lot of it is memorization that you can do while traveling.

Don't sleep on Biochem 🙂, but considering you made it this far I'm sure you will do just fine in the course. Also, if you hammer out the structures of the amino acids and their properties from the beginning it will save you a lot of time and effort as you move forward in the content as well.
