How to address an interviewer in a thank you note?

I just had my first interview today and I want to write a thank you note to the woman who interviewed me. I would normally call her Dr. LastName, but her degree is an MPT, not a DPT. How should I address her? Is it appropriate to call her by her first name? Or should I be writing the thank you note to someone completely different in the department, like the head of administration?

Do you remember how she introduced herself to you at the beginning of her interview? If so, address her using what she introduced herself as. You could also go the safe route and address her as "Ms. (last name)". Formal but shows you're respectful. I would also double-check with the program that you're allowed to contact her. I interviewed at one school that said contacting professors/faculty after our interview for any reason prior to hearing an admission decision was prohibited!

What school was that? It’s pretty standard to do after a job interview, I don’t see why that would be prohibited in a setting like this.

I personally do not think you need to write thank you note (unless you really want to). It will not improve your chances.

Yeah I figure it won’t help my chances, but at the very least it’ll put my name in their heads. The process is also long and they’re taking their time to interview 100 people over 4 weeks, so it’s nice to just let them know I recognize that they’re taking time out of their busy schedules to do this.
