How to answer the same secondary prompts from schools you interviewed at last cycle?

Would you still rewrite the essays even though you received an interview last year? Do you think it would be a bad idea to use the same general essay but just add new information and reword certain parts?

Most people who have to reapply are not told what in their application was cause for rejection or lack of acceptance. Assume that ANYTHING in your app could have been the cause, and try your best to improve every aspect. If you think the essay is the best it could be, you should still try to rewrite it. I don't think it's horrible to use the same general essay idea or parts of the essay from last cycle, but really ask yourself if it's the best essay you could be sending.

You got an interview invitation, so I'd say your essay worked. I'd suggest enough revision (particularly in the first paragraph) to make it clear it's not a copy & paste job, but don't change the structure and 'guts' unnecessarily.

OP, the school that interviewed and waitlisted me last cycle accepted me this time around and I submitted the same damn thing (with a few words switched around maybe). I don't think it's really that important unless it's a major question.
