How to apply for PGY2?

Hi there...
I am currently doing my PGY2 in ObGyn, thinking about applying to anesthesia next year. (Can't do this crap anymore!) Do any programs offer 2006's CA1 positions during this years match or should I shoot for PGY1? Any input will be appreciated. Thanks!

Many programs purposefully hold spots outside of the match for transfers. There are quite a few old threads on this topic and I think the FAQ's may have some info on this as well. Basically, you should contact any programs you are interested in and ask if they have a spot available for next year. Some will ask you to apply through the match, some will ask that you apply outside of the match.

Get your letters of rec lined up and call the programs EARLY. Many programs are already accepting candidates for '06 and my programs is already full for the out of match positions in '06.
