I'm confused because we need to do a pre-lim year in internal medicine.
Do most Psych programs find you a pre-lim IM spot, or should we be applying to both Psych and pre-lim IM?

You do not need to apply for a prelim if you are apply for psych. Just apply to categorical psych programs, these programs will already have the medicine months built in to your schedule.

As said above, you don't need to apply for a prelim year. Psych doesn't require it. It simply requires 4 months of medicine and 2 months of neuro, which is built in to the curriculum. Just apply straight psych.

All psych programs that I know of are categorical. The intern year will include the required medicine and neuro rotations in addition to the psych exposure that occurs during the first year. You do need to apply for prelim/TY spots unless you're concerned about not matching.
