Hello guys,
I have a question about my application via ADA, which might be asked many times before, but I could'nt find it here yet. This is my first time to apply for dental schools, so please help me.
My question is how I can arrange for my official DAT scores to be sent directly to my designated dental schools? I took DAT last week and I paid some hundreds bucks before I registered the test. (at that time, I was asked to choose some dental schools that I wish to go) Now, I am in process to apply through ADA, and they said I make sure to arrange my DAT scores to be sent directly to the schools. Also, some dental schools request my official DAT scores to be directly sent to them. The DAT center is going to send my scores to my designated schools then? Or, Do I have to request them or something? I am confused.
Help me please.

That money you paid before taking your DAT was for taking the exam and sending your official scores directly to those schools. All you have to do is take the exam and they take care of sending them to the schools. If you need to add a school on top of the ones you already designated, go to this link http://ada.org/prof/ed/testing/dat/index.asp and at the bottom it says send my scores to a dental school but thats only if you added schools other then the ones designated before your DAT.

Thank you!! so then I can just wait till they take care of sending my scores to the dental schools. 🙂

Yes, there is a lot of confusion about this right now and Im pretty sure this is correct. Plus this is taken from the ADA, remember if you paid an additional $25 per school in your original DAT application on top of the 5 included, you're fine. Heres what ADA says and it pretty much reiterates what I said earlier.

At the completion of your testing appointment, you will receive an unofficial score report at the Prometric Testing Center. This unofficial report is audited for accuracy before official scores are reported to the dental schools requested on your DAT application. No other score report will be sent to you.
The application fee includes reporting official scores to five dental schools. Once you submit your application, you cannot change your school selections. Official scores are reported to the dental schools you selected on your application approximately four weeks after your testing appointment.
