I just found out that I have two interviews within the same state. I only have one school left in that state which I want to interview at. I was wondering if its possible to ask the program to see if I can be interviewed at that time (in short, asking them to interview me)? And whats the best way to go about it. Thanks.

I wouldn't do this. If they would like to interview you, they will make their intentions known. If this school in question is holding out until dean's letter goes out, chill out for another week or so. If after that time you have not been invited, just go ahead and attend your other two. It would not be in your best interests to appear to be groveling for an interview,

If you're not going to advocate for yourself, no one else will either. If you want to interview there, pursue it. This is your future, grovel away.

You have nothing to lose if you don't have an interview anyway. As long as you're courteous and don't do it in an obnoxious or intrusive way I say go ahead and contact them. Programs have no way of distinguishing who in their hundreds of applications is particularly interested in their program. It might be a loss to both you and the program if you don't pursue them.

Good Luck!

Definitely! Just call and explain the situation. Ask nicely. They get this request all the time and I believe most programs are happy to try to accomodate you. I am couples matching and have had good luck calling and asking for interviews at the same time my fiancee is inteviewing in Pediatrics, even if they haven't invited me yet. You've got nothing to lose as long as you're polite.

Sometimes applicants get lost in the shuffle.
I know......it almost happened to me.
One of the programs I wanted deperately to interview with hadn't notified me in either direction, interview or rejection.
I called them in early december and had an interview the same day.
I liked them so much.....I ranked them highly and I am lucky enough to match there. It pays off to call.
It lets them know you are interested in the program. You aren't being pushy, as long as you are polite, especially to the program co-ordinators (they run the show most of the time, it aint the directors).
My advice be proactive. I got several of my interviews through calling. They sometimes have so many applicants it gives them incentive to invite you if you show the extra interest by calling.
