I have applied 3 times...this time I only had one interview and just found out I was denied. I need some advice on how to become a better applicant.
I am going to apply for '09 and want to get started soon on becoming a stronger applicant.
I'm thinking: retake the DAT (though I think I did pretty well already)
find part-time work in a private dental office
volunteer at a local dental school and get to know faculty
I'm also thinking about trying to get a master's degree in the next year as well. does anyone know of any 1 year programs that will be favorable for a dental applicant? Or should I just take some various upper-level science courses that I haven't taken yet?
Any other ideas on how to become a stronger applicant would be greatly appreciated.
Here's my numbers:
DAT:
AA = 20
PAT = 20
QR = 18
RC = 21
BIO = 19
CHEM = 23
ORG = 21
TOTAL SCI = 21
GPA = 3.4
Science GPA = 3.3
Over 100 hours of volunteering at a private practice.
