How to become an anesthesiologist?

M1 here. I was curious how it all works...getting into an anesthesiology residency? I know most programs are 3 years + 1 intern year, and how does that work? I understand taking steps 1 and 2 of boards, and the concept of matching, but how do you match a program that doesn't have a pgy1 internship and still be accepted for the actual program pgy2-pgy4?

Thank you to anyone who could lay out how they did it, or their plans. I'd also like to hear about grade/board scores needed (minus "the top 10%, 99th percentile ect... because that’s obvious). Thanks 😀
