Hi,

I have the old version of the EK 101 but called EK and asked them the differences with the new EK. They said its the exact same passages but 14 exams (40 questions each) and in the edition i have there are 11 exams (60 questions each). I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue and what they did to adjust?

So far I used the first 6 passages of verbal test 1 as my first test since it was 39 questions and used 60 minutes but heard from people that you should do 7 passages. So for my verbal test 2 I took the last 3 passages from the original verbal test 1 (since it has a total of 9 passages) and the first 4 from the original verbal test 2 , which gave me 46 questions in total and i gave myself 69 minutes (1.5 minutes a question).

I score it based on the percentages, but does anyone have another method or does anyone have both books and can let me know what the specific changes are? There was an old thread about this but the person that had both books showed the adjustment for the first two verbal tests only.

Thanks!

If there were plenty of good verbal materials, I'd suggest taking 6-7 passages per day. However, there aren't. Due to the small amount of good verbal resources and the importance of continual practice, it's best to take 2-3 passages per day. If you only have verbal 101, you should probably cut it to 2 per day or else you'll run out of passages real fast.

Thanks! What about the TPRH verbal workbook though? And do you suggest reviewing the passages just as EK has suggested in their verbal review book?
