How to best notify schools I'm withdrawing my application?

I have been lucky enough to garner an acceptance from my top choice, so I'd like to withdraw my applications from all other schools to expedite other applicants' processing. Should I go through and send each admission office an email? Or is there a way to do this more efficiently on AMCAS that I'm not seeing?

If I need to send individual emails, should I just write "I'm withdrawing my application." or would it be more polite to give a reason/thank them for their time?

Thanks so much for all your help in this process SDN. I would have gone crazy without this awesome group of fellow neurotic dreamers. 😍

I've been lucky enough to be in your same situation. I think showing sincerity would be nice. I withdrew both from scheduled interviews and pre-interview silences. I stated that I was accepted to a top choice blah blah, showed appreciation for the interview invite/not rejecting me. I've only received nice emails back. Things along the lines of "Thank you and I wish you the best of luck in medical school".

They probably received withdrawals all of the time, so they're used to this. Doing them early is probably a big help to them (and fellow applicants)

I'm sorry for the repeat question - I searched through the forums but missed it. >.<

Thanks a bunch for the tips! I'll write a quick template letter to express my appreciation and send it out to all of them.

Honestly, don't worry about appreciation. Just keep it short and polite.

I don't have advice, just wanted to say thanks to everyone who is withdrawing from schools after they're sure they don't want to go there. You don't really have to make this effort, and it's very thoughtful both to the schools and the other applicants. 👍 :claps::biglove::banana:

(just discovered the scrollbar for the smilies selection)
