I'm currently registered to take tomorrow's PCAT exam but feel I am not ready and I don't want to go to the trouble of driving to the testing location and wasting a whole morning. I'd rather be more prepared and take the test in August. I know it is too late to get any part of my money back, but I was wondering if anyone knows how I would go about canceling the test? Do I just not show up and it will be voided? Thanks for your answers. Good luck to everyone taking the test tomorrow!

Since you already paid for your exam and you won't be getting any of your money back, then you could make the best of the situation by taking the exam and then asking your proctors to void your exam. They do provide that option. Of course, this would mean that you trouble yourself getting to your testing location but you mind as well get the most out of your wasted money by getting true test-prep for August.🙂

I called them about cancelling the exam on the 11th, and they told me 8th was the last day to do any change. 🙁 Anyways, I am trying my best tomorrow and hopefully I can get an idea of what's on the exam.

BTW, can someone tell me how to void the exam score?

Thank you for your answer omnione! Just another question, when scores are voided, do the schools you are applying to know? Is this a poor reflection on the applicant in anyway?

As far as I know from people here, it doesn't since PharmCAS never receives any score since you voided the exam. But I looked it up and I found myself saying that I really don't remember what the proctor said since I never voided the test. Translation: I am not 100% sure.😳

Even if it did, the schools can't really interpret that void as they would most likely think that you got sick during the exam as most people think they are good enough to do well. So, I think that a void that appears on the PharmCAS transcript is better than a 60th percentile.😀 If you do take the test, do ask about that so we all know for sure. Like I said, I believe that it doesn't show up on PharmCAS since nothing gets scored at Harcourt but I am not 100% sure. Try doing a search about it but I remember it being okay.🙂

Just to give an update. To void the exam is very easy. There is a single bubble in the answer booklet which you fill in (located at the bottom of the page of the last section). It explicitly states that your test will not be scored, no money would be refunded, any desire to score the exam taken will not be available if you change your mind. In addition, no scores will be sent to you or to the designated schools.
