How to close an MMI interview?

So I recently had an MMI interview and have some more coming up in the next few weeks. I thought that my answers were pretty good but I felt pretty awkward closing it out.

When one finishes making his or her argument, is it appropriate to ask. Do you have any follow up questions? This is the approach that I took but it felt kind of awkward and I feel maybe I should have just let the questions come naturally. Are there any good tips for closing an MMI station naturally?

I just kinda sum up my thoughts into a conclusion, reiterating the key points, and make it clear that I'm wrapping up. Then when I stop talking its very clear that I'm done and they can ask questions.

Hi there! The way you close each station in an MMI interview is important because, due to the primacy effect and the recency effect, people tend to remember much more what happens at the beginning and at the end of a conversational exchange, so you want to give that sense of closure to your responses. In order to do so, intonation is very important, as it will help you signal that you are done. Something else that you should keep in mind is the importance of providing a summary sentence to your answer. It should not be a reiteration of everything you have said but a nice concluding sentence that ties in your answer nicely and signals to your interlocutor that you have completed your answer and are ready to move on. As for asking the interviewer if they have follow up questions, if you feel awkward doing this, maybe you don’t have to phrase it as a question. You could simply finish your answer and say, ‘and now I will be happy to answer any additional questions’. What’s important here is to be engaged and bright as you go through your interview and to show them that you appreciate the opportunity to be there.
