I'd probably work best with a DOP who allows you to do what you want without their approval as long as its reasonable.

Like one time, a day shifter asked if I could switch with them that day. So I popped in at 9AM instead of 3PM. DOP flew off the handle and said that shift switches require his approval. WTF?

I think I am a thinking director . I always used to wonder if I was a directing thinker type but I am not fine-toothed enough in my thought process to be a "mastermind" .. which I think maybe my wife is. Alas .. being an outwardly directed T type separates you a lot from the inwardly directed thinkers.

I have been told i'm a great teacher.. interesting to know ENTP is a good type for that. My current job has a lot of teaching roles both formal and informal and people (my introverted, more detail oriented colleagues) are usually telling me they find teaching to be the most difficult part. But thats because they feel they have to memorize scripts for it!

ENTP is also known as the innovator or entrepreneur. Which I guess explains why I am a small business owner .. but , pharmacy is not a very flexible, innovative field overall, especially due to the mindsets of people involved. Back as a technician, I was always being told "wait, you did that *how*? Thats not how we do things" even though I had come up with a much faster, less error prone process.

Definitely I think there is room for all types of people in pharmacy. . Just that since most pharmacy workplaces are very small and cozy .. if you are a rare type for it .. such as entp, infp , better prepare to learn how to deal with the stereotypical pharmacist personality!

What do you guys think the most common type is for pharmacists? I feel like when our entire class did mbti during orientation, maybe 70% of the class was one specific type out of the 4 major archetypes (ie the mbti middle letters).. I know there was only 1 other ENTP and maybe only a small handful of NF and SF types in general.

Since I've needed to communicate with people who think very differently than I do lately, it's forced me to do a lot of introspection and pick apart my own brain to come up with solutions that are unconventional yet necessary at such a dark point in my personal and family life. So I've analyzed and analyzed and analyzed...

INTjs are very professional.

This is funny, but my hard*** mother is INTj. She knocked the lack of being detail-oriented right out of me whenever I was a young teenager. She also thought that I was MBTI INFp (FiNeSiTe) until she discovered Socionics, so that created a lot of misunderstanding while I was growing up. Whenever I look back now, though, I'm like... what feelings was she talking about?! My extroverted feelings are directed outward, so it's like I don't even own them. 😛

If you really wanna pick their brains and find out what makes your colleagues tick, then you should read about hidden agenda and +/-. I think you'll find that crazy helpful!... but be careful not to get too obsessed; I've almost gotten to a point where I can spot a person's personality type on sight alone. (The hidden agenda is basically how a person's tertiary function manifests, and since it's only tertiary, it can take on an unconscious, subliminal-like role.) Hidden agenda and +/- can help you "tag" someone if nothing else. 😉
Oh, and Erotic Attitudes will knock your socks off or probably blow your mind!... yeah, so there's this ESTp materials manager at work who finds it amusing to hound me, and I wanna ****ing kill his ***!

ENTp?! COOL! You would be a great professor, too... I had an ENTp Biochem professor, and he was fabulous fabulous fabulous! Everyone loved him. 😍 Just for kicks... Angelina Jolie is ENTp.

Too funny.. my dad is a hardcore intj . As well as my wife (although shes on the borderline of not being a classic one) .. they are sometimes insane to deal with lolol due to their requirement of generous helpings of detail in order to process things .. but you can almost always trust their analysis even if you dont like the sound of it. They make good specialists/analysts for sure.

For me, I am 100% n, 100% t , about 80% E and 60% P ... so I guess I sometimes could fall under the ENTJ umbrella .. pharmacy is the wrong damn profession for me by personality type on paper heh.. I was hoping I could bring my differences to the table and shake things up some.. well retail did not like that one bit, but hopefully the business world (current job) will (seems much more promising so far .. but still cannot see myself in any other role but director in the long run) . Pretty sure my current director is an ENTJ type or one of the others that suits executives .(we get along great at work and have similar styles of approach) although I have worked under a "harmonizer" DOP before.. now that was somewhat of a wild ride... friendly, but mysterious mental approach... i tend to get along with most types but sometimes I just cannot grasp the mindsets of non NT types.

Here's hoping we both can advance a bit more (either personally, socially, or professionally) by knowing a bit about other people. !

I wouldn't take too much credence into what is said about how you get from one point to another while being inventive or innovative. This "dying" profession desperately needs people like you! So long as you operate correctly, who cares! 🙂

Yes. Introverted thinking and extroverted thinking are without a doubt dissimilar in how they grab at facts... if you will.

Extroverted thinking (which I rarely utilize as an INFp - NiFeTiSe, so you'll have to excuse me if my description is too simplistic) is basically a framework of ideas or details about things that continues to be built upon during life. So, irregular occurrences or examples don't fit very well into a rigidly-formed framework. Extroverted thinking is almost like a way of stereotyping things, and it can answer how.

Introverted thinking, which is not my primary or secondary function so you'll have to excuse me again, is a way of sorting through things until you reach the "right" conclusion or decision. What is "right" usually has a specific context and pertinence that surrounds the conclusion or decision and can answer why.

The Platinum Rule is applicable to both Socionics and MBTI, and the profile descriptions of each type are the same in either Socionics or MBTI. It's just that the functions are correct for both introverts and extroverts in Socionics. Who is who? will spell the primary and secondary functions out. You'll have to deduce the other functions. 😉

That is awesome. Thank you! That explains a LOT about my relationships with INTJ's .. i have been known to be very much a "stereotyper" but I feel that it definitely helps me answer the question 'how' or 'why' by relating things to my preexisting framework by classifying and stereotyping .. my wife is always getting on my case about that LOL . To her, there is only ever one RIGHT answer. I have heard ENTP's best ally is INTJ, which I would agree based on the fact that my best college friend was extremely INTJ , and also of course my wife.

Haha it was wild because I couldn't deduce her logical path for most things, beyond just "this will make sure everyone works out together on things"

ENTJ's are great managers, their only downside being that I find sometimes they are not open to new suggestions as much as I'd like them to be, coming from an 'innovator's' perspective.

My uncle is an ENTJ and runs his own company .. they are very effective at being executives but sometimes their confidence can get in the way of openness. He would think I am too creative to be trusted without scrutiny. It's the NTJ types .. always thinking there is *one* right answer! Haha! ENTJ though is more open to doing 'what works' , rather than what 'is correct' , like INTJ.

Sorry for not using the correct big/small letters, I havent read socionics yet. But I understand where MBTI went wrong , intuitively (heh!)

Mirror relations are supposed to be within the top 4 intertype relations by degree of comfort. So kudos to y'all! I could never marry an ENFj though... yikes!

I find it so interesting whenever F/F and T/T types get married, because it seems so illogical to me. I could never marry another F type... I'm just not impressed by the "needs" of other F types and usually find their expressions of emotions to be rather cheesy, lacking authenticity, and woefully unattractive. Luckily for T types, though, I've noticed that T/T relationships aren't as prone to as much tension as F/F pairings (take quasi-identical relations for example). However and even with that being said, I believe that T/T pairings can sometimes lack the warmth and passion that's necessary to hold them together in the first place. For example, my INTj mother never mentions her ISTp ex-husband or ENTj ex-boyfriend. It's like she's indifferent towards them?! It's like... ok mom... whatevs... I've only ever heard her talk about her ISFp ex-husband and ESFp ex-husband in a way that was beyond superficial data...

I also find emotional games to be very tactless, irritating, and threatening in nature, which I had forgotten about myself until very recently, and I just end up hating and retaliating back against the other person for trying to drag me along. Basically, whenever it's all said and done, the other person who might have thought that they were innocently just playing an emotional game with me gets hurt, not me. So it's probably best that I stay away from all F types and a handful of T types anyway... unless the other person enjoys getting eaten alive! *burp* LOL

Fe - outward love --> outward contempt (so you feel the need to mess with me and hurt me? really?!)
Ti - why is this happening and how can I fix this "problem"
Se - notices the evidence in the other person, which could be in the form of tears, anger, cold shoulder, complaints to management about me and a write-up hehehe

I would say our pairing definitely lacks a lot of warmth because we are both very analytical minded. We definitely approach things from different perspectives and do best when we are contributing those perspectives to solve a mutual problem, which is one of our strengths.

INTJ's definitely require 'giving in' to, because they are always so confident that they are right. But it's something I dont really mind doing with her, because, well, she is usually right. I couldn't see myself, on the other hand, being able to 'give in' to an F type who is basing their reasoning on secret or ambiguous emotional factors.

At the end of the day, we can understand each other and I think that really helps. Also the fact that, as the article mentions, our relations are such where one person's area of precision is the other's area of creativity , while it causes clashes, usually leads us to more advanced solutions than what one of us thought was set in stone.

You know, I usually have to work on "secret or ambiguous emotional factors" day by day! It's an uphill battle for me for sure, but I just try to keep my mouth shut until I get a chance to take everything in and decide what to do about it. I'm extremely stubborn, too, so I usually have to walk in the other person's shoes quite a bit to reduce conflict.

Edited to add: The only advantages to being an F type are in the bedroom and when interacting with children, the elderly, or pets.

Here's a nifty video on intuition. Tim Cook describes intuition as "gut", which is fairly typical of most people and how they view intuition. I think know he's INTj (TiNeSiFe).
