Hi. I started school in January and then took full time summer semester. Is the summer semester considered as a sophomore year (as suggested by AMCAS) or it is still a freshman year because I had less than 35 credits? Also, after that summer I started my next year, but still had less than 35 hours, are those credits earned in the fall considered a sophomore year?
Thanks

Freshman 0-29 credits
Sophomore-30-59
Junior 60-89
Senior 90-120+

Hi. It is a different story on their website. I don’t have even distribution of credits, if I calculate like that, which classes from the fall semester should be added to a freshman year (to achieve 35)?

You can always just give it your best guess and let amcas make the decision. I put my best guess and then they moved a bunch of classes "back" a year to line up how they wanted it.

Same, I guessed and AMCAS basically just readjuested everything. So long as it is not incorrect naming and grade, they won't penalize you.

It really doesn't matter. Like everyone said, AMCAS makes the decision and you are stuck with it. Make sure that you maintain the same grade level during the term though. So don't say half of fall term is freshman and half is sophomore. It needs to be all one or all the other.
