M1 here interested in derm and trying to plan ahead.
How have those of you who matched gone about getting a research year during med school? I'm thinking to start shadowing a professor in our department who also does research and try to get involved in some projects, then apply for hhmi or something. Are there other better known routes that y'all have taken?
