I'm having problems entering tabs in the box provided for the personal statement. Everytime I press tab it goes to the word count box. I even entered in 7 spaces in the box as a tab for each paragraph but when I submit the essay part and view it, it still doesn't show up that way.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to deal with this?

I was thinking about putting a blank line in between each paragraph if it ends up not working out. What do you think? Thanks.

you skip a line. that's all you can do. next time try using the search button before you ask a question.

AMCAS doesn't "do" indentations so you will need to put a space between each paragraph. This will be a common problem...meaning, you will see a lot of this same issue when filling out secondaries.

Thanks!

Are you really supposed to skip a line though? When I clicked view my application, it seemed as though a single stroke of the return key created a break between paragraphs. Placing an actual space in the text box made the breaks look humongous when printed out.

when i printed my amcas, it came out with one line separation, no more. i wonder what happened with you, even though i doubt it matters.

I'd imagine since they have a "dinosauric" method of entering your personal statement, they're happy if it has periods, capitalization, and actual english characters.
