How to find Chief Resident position?

Looking for chief resident position. Seeking advice at finding a position outside of ones primary training institution. Ideally an academic center. Could you cold call/email programs or is this shunned upon as most places recruit in house? Thanks

Probably better to email places than cold call them. Most places do recruit in house, but sometimes no one wants to do it. Thats hard to know from the outside

Talk to your PD. These positions are often shared between PD's.

If you're looking for this July, you're very late.

Univ programs often recruit internally, community based (and some comm based / univ affiliated) look for external candidates.
