How to gauge interview performance?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was fortunate enough to have some interview so far. I prepared and I thought they went well, but I've also heard we are not good self-evaluators. Can anyone provide any insight?
I've seen two decades of sdn members report that the interview went great, but yet they got a rejected

Even if you had a great interview, there's still the admissions committee to deal with. Hell everybody could have the best Olympic Marathon they've ever run, but only the top three people are going to be medalists. Same thing holds true for people who are going to get into medical school.

Hundreds of interviewees for seats that are in the high double digits to low triple digits.

Hence trying to figure out how you did on the interview, is going to be a Fool's errand
