how to get a Medical Assistant position?

Hi!

I am trying to obtain an entry level medical assistant position, but so far no luck. Any suggestions on how to find and become gainfully employed as a MA? I have 5+ years experience in engineering, so I don't think HR is even considering me when I apply even though I wrote a cover letter explaining how I am changing my career.

Tips or suggestions?

Try getting certified as a Certified Nurses Aid. It might help. The Red Cross offers courses.
