The CVS near me has a job opening, but online it says the requirements are for people who are state certified. Can anybody who has done the on the job training to become certified at CVS or Walgreens explain to me the process, because I don't get how I would go about getting that training (I have never seen any spots that say apply for a training position)?

Do I just apply for the regular Tech position and say that I'm not certified and need training?

Thank you for your response. 😳

What state are you in? Technician requirements vary widely from state to state. I work in 2 states, living on the line, and in one state I don't have to do jack, just register with the board. In the other, I have to do 10 hours of CEs every year.

I'm interested in this as well, I currently live in Florida and the new law requires formal training which needs to be approved by the state. I was thinking, should I get certified but not licensed? I currently volunteer at the hospital pharmacy and I am learning new drugs everyday but I would like to get a slight edge towards my resume and I am curious if this would help me.

*Edit: Can I take the exam and register under another state that does not require the training?

Thank you
