I am planning on applying in may for 09' cycle and i have a few questions related to ref. letters. I know when i ask for ref. letters, matching forms must be attached to the ref. letters when it is sent but those forms are only availalble in may right? so how am i gonna do this before may? does this mean i have to wait until may? or should i ask my prof. to have them ready and give the matching form when i can print them out in may?
Lastly, does this also apply to transcripts ??

Thanks.

The matching forms are available when you create them in mid may2008. Just tell them to write your recommendations and send them when you give them the matching forms. You give the registrar the matching forms when you request that your transcripts be sent to AADSAS so you really can't do it before hand. I've had an professor write a letter a year in advance so all I needed to do is give him the matching form when I requested it to be sent.

Many schools have LOR folder services, which allow you to amass your letters and when the time comes to send them out just stop by the office and pass along the matching form and they will handle the rest.

If possible this is the best way to go it allows you to be fully prepared when the cycle starts and with all your letters being shipped together it is less likely that they will be misplaced by aadsas. It also allows a larger window for the professors to complete the letter and send it out as soon as they are done, reducing the risk of it being misplaced in the intervening months between completion and the point at which AADSAS opens.
